Since 1986, I have been an elementary educator in West Hartford and Meriden, Connecticut. Full of energy and enthusiasm, my career began as a full day kindergarten teacher in the West Hartford School System. It was a diverse community that taught me important lessons about children and their cultures. After six years of teaching and learning from my kindergarten students, I decided to move on to first grade. During this time, I worked with many creative and talented teachers.
As I entered my 18
th year of teaching, I began to lose the passion of a profession that I dearly loved. Yet I knew I had to continue to touch children's lives. My desire for a personal change led me to a business called,
Just Simply Write..."Express With Success!"
In 2004, when my business was in its infancy, I continued to teach. Reflecting on my teaching career, I enjoyed the times when we went on nature walks and celebrated holidays and special events. Teaching my students how to read and write and watching them take care of a class pet was a delight!
But as I changed as a teacher... so did the profession. There was an increase in responsibilities, meetings and committees. I felt overwhelmed! I knew young teachers coming into the profession would feel the same way I did as well as teachers who had dedicated their lives to children.
In 2006, my products and business philosophy began to take form. I wanted to create educational journals and products that would increase reading and writing skills in young children but would also eliminate teacher's time spent designing materials for students.
Just Simply Write... "Express With Success!" is a small company that creates unique and educational materials for teachers and their students! Use these simply written materials any way you like. But remember... have fun and
