Simply Written Literature Circles
Simply Written Literature Circles consists of 52 pages. It's a literary journal for second, third, and fourth grade students.

Included in this journal are five graphic organizers for each literature circle role such as the: Illustrator, Discussion Director, Summarizer, Word Finder, Connector, Highlighter and Monitor.

Also included... are definitions of each literature circle role, a page to list book titles, literature circle questions for the Discussion Director, a page to record your own questions, a page of ideas for the Illustrator and a page to list your own ideas for illustrations.

In addition, there is a list of extension activities, a page to record your own extension activities and a page to illustrate and write about one of your favorite experiences during a literature circle group.

There is no one way to conduct literature circles. Literature circles look different in every grade, classroom, and with every teacher. Use additional roles if you like. Make your literature circle time longer or shorter. You decide what is best for your class. More importantly, literature circles provide the way for students to "interact" and "discuss" their reading.

This journal will develop a classroom of readers and thinkers!
