Right from the start!
Look at a word
Use your eyes
Take a picture
Did you ask "Why?"
A mental image
Is what you need
To help you spell
The word indeed!
Try to learn
What teachers call
Word Families
Learn them all!
If you can spell
"Fast" and "last"
Then you can spell
"Blast" and "past!"
Prefixes and suffixes
Are added to words
Beginning and end
How absurd!
But don't worry
Here's a clue
Spell the base word
To really help you!
First you'll say
This I know
The base word in "slowly"
Is definitely "slow!"
If you're not sure
What to do
Use a dictionary
And word wall too!
Ask a teacher
Ask a friend
For spelling strategies
Again and again!
Spelling will
Make you brighter
Especially as
A reader and writer!
