This important skill
They entertain
What a thrill!
To create a tale
Storytellers yearn
Or they'll use
One they learned!
Their stories are told
Without the text
They're passed on
From one to the next!
Storytellers use
Gestures and words
They don't have props
That's what I heard!
They add humor
And suspense
They mesmerize
It's so intense!
Storytellers have
Creative minds
They're creative speakers
One of a kind!
Creative speakers
Are what we need
To tell a story
To take the lead!
So with lots of practice
And lots of time
Become a storyteller
You'll do fine!
Find an audience
Find a friend
Tell your story
Again and again!
Look into their eyes
Project your voice
Use expression
You have no choice!
When you speak
Whether fast or slow
Make your voice
Go high and low!
Just so you know
The more you speak
Your confidence will grow
Week after week!
So be a storyteller
I do prefer
Because you'll change
Into a creative writer!
