On your first attempt
Try not to worry
To get everything right
There’s really no hurry!
Write the beginning
Using pencil or pen
Next the middle
Last the end!
Your first draft is done
Let’s move to step three
It’s time to Revise
So listen to me!
Reread your story
Check your text
Add or take out
To make it correct!
Next is step four
Now here we go
You need to Edit
Please take it slow!
Check your spelling
Punctuation too
Grammar and capitalization
It’s up to you!
After you edit
It’s time for fun
Begin to Publish
Then you’ll be done!
Write your final copy
Make sure it’s neat
Or use a computer
What a great feat!
Add some pictures
I ask you again
Then share your story
With family and friends!
